Course Description: 

Commercial construction is very diverse from small retail shops and convenience stores to massive high rise condos and stadiums.  For the Florida Building Code, Energy Conservation, 5th Edition (2014), there are three paths for energy code compliance in varying degrees of complexity and difficulty from which contractors may choose. However, there are mandatory provisions that must be met regardless of the compliance of path chosen from the Florida CodeThis course provides a review of the mandatory air sealing requirements as they pertain to building envelope, mechanical and limited lighting provisions.

Course Objectives:

The overall goal of this course is to ensure participants are familiar with current and future changes to the Florida Building Code, Energy Conservation, to improve the likelihood that buildings are constructed in accordance with the building code.
